Notes from the President…
To all our BMA ATL members,
By now you have received the announcement from Steve Liguori, chairman of BMA’s national board, about the proposed acquisition by the Association of National Advertisers (ANA). If not, please take a moment to read Mr. Liguori’s email, or Google it read more from the New York Times and other news outlets.
Joining with ANA is an important decision for growth of BMA, both nationally and locally. BMA ATL’s expectation of the change lies in the enhanced value that we’ll be able to deliver to our members. We’ll be able to benefit from the established infrastructure, resources and intellectual capital that ANA can provide. For instance, we will enjoy access to the organization’s Marketing Research Center, a deep library of industry research and insights, as well as local and national events and webinars, training and career development opportunities.
As president of BMA Atlanta, I want to assure you that, along with the board of directors, my first priority as we move forward is you. We are proud of the more than 90-year legacy of BMA and what we’ve recently rebuilt together as the fastest-growing chapter of BMA. As we continue to evaluate this opportunity, the Board will continually act as an advocate on your behalf, to preserve the value and vision you’ve come to expect from BMA ATL.
Tomorrow, October 24th, you’ll receive an email from BMA National. You will be asked to cast your vote in favor of the agreement between our two organizations before November 30. To remain as informed as possible, I encourage you to spend time reviewing available communications, and to watch for additional information from me in the coming weeks.
Thank you for helping to make BMA Atlanta a leading community for B2B marketers and communicators. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
